Young, which is a story that explores the nature and character of God. We'll be meeting again at 7pm at the Vicarage in Markington on Monday 11th January. All are very welcome to come along.

Saturday 5th December, 3.30pm, at The Bruce Arms, West Tanfield: A Very Tanfield Nativity - Joe Carpenter & Son
A Nativity play with a twist comes to the picturesque village of West Tanfield in Norh Yorkshire on Saturday 5th December. Members of the local community are coming together to present "A Very Tanfield Nativity - Joe Carpenter and Son" in the courtyard of The Bruce Arms in Main Street. "When the proprietors of The Bruce Arms approached me with the idea of staging a Nativity in their stable block, I thought it sounded fantastic." explains Revd Nick Morgan, who is Assistant Curate at St Nicholas' Church, West Tanfield. "Putting on a Nativity play in such a picturesque setting was an idea which really appealed to me and it's been great to see how so many people have really got behind the idea. There are authentic stables and live animals involved in the production, and I'm sure this will be a really fun event which brings to life the Christmas story of God's love for the world." Local residents are directing, staging and starring in this retelling of the Christmas Story which takes place on the afternoon of Saturday December 5th at 3.30pm and concludes with a procession to St Nicholas Church for seasonal refreshments. The play, based on the Graham Clarke book "Joe Carpenter and Son", includes pupils from St Nicholas Church of England Primary School and is directed by David Parkinson and produced by Steph Bennett. There is no charge for the performance which will start at 3.30pm in the courtyard area of the pub but audience members are advised to wear warm clothing and bring a torch!
